Little Bit of Heaven
Hazelwood Records, 2000
"In Carol McComb's music there is grace and refinement that approaches the angelic. Her singing, playing, composing and arranging are all of a piece and suffused with intelligence and love. Perhaps the unique beauty of her music is due in part to the union of her steadfast faithfulness to her creative vision and the ancient traditions that are in her bones. Carol's integrity, skill, and sheer musicality have inspired me for thirty years. "

The Gryphon All Stars/Carolers
|
The Gryphon Carollers had its humble beginnings in 1975. That year, Carol McComb and Ed Johnson handed out Christmas carol lyric sheets (without music) to the students in their harmony singing class at Gryphon Stringed Instruments, and the whole group took to the streets! Twenty-two years and many rehearsals later, the Gryphon Carollers now has a repertoire of over 40 songs, including original arrangements by Carol and Ed. It is still a community-based group composed largely of 'recreational" musicians who enjoy spreading holiday cheer in local concert halls, hospitals and nursing homes. This recording represents the culmination of tremendous effort and commitment on the part of each caroller. It combines tradition with contemporary musical styles, in urrangements that have as many as seven different vocal parts.

..."their voices intertwine as if each were the mirror image of the other. Their music is innocent ---innocent of malice and greed---and it is
unabashedly lovely."
