We use tablature for the trickier parts for those who play above level 2+. 7PM: Slow Track Fun #2 for Guitar and Ukulele (level 1- 2)
An easy going class for those who know some basic guitar chords or want to get started on the ukulele. We will learn at least a dozen well-known songs from a wide variety of sources. Songs from Bonnie Raitt, Woody Guthrie, Ray Charles, Hank Williams, John Denver, Creedence Clearwater, Emmylou Harris, American traditional songs and many more and learn how to start playing songs by ear. |
TUESDAYS
5PM: Easy James Taylor (level 2 -3) New Class! Using primarily finger style accompaniment, we will learn some of James Taylor's best known and most loved songs. Includes simplified strums for those who want to play easier versions of the songs, plus tablature for those who want to accompany the songs using Travis style patterns with some runs and easy fills. 6PM: Songwriter's Circle
(no guitar level) Open to songwriters of all levels including beginners. Our songwriting class is different every quarter in our constant search for the muse. Come to get started writing your own songs; come for ideas and guidance; come to share a song in progress or a finished song. Come just to have a great time! 7PM: Americana and It's Roots #27
(multi-level class: levels 2-3 and 4) This class will be popular, so it is offered at two different times and will be taught at two different levels to fit a wider range of playing ability. We’ll learn songs from artists like Lyle Lovett, the Wailin’ Jennys, Gillian Welch, John Hiatt, Alison Krauss, Tim O’Brien, Townes Van Zandt, Sarah Jarosz, Emmylou Harris, etc. We will also learn songs from some of the primary sources of American roots music.
