MONDAYS
6pm: Folk Favorites #2 (level 2) After we've reviewed basic chords and strums, we will learn new chords and strum patterns, learn arrangements with moving bass lines and easy fills, get started with barre chords, and learn how to accompany 16 great folk, country and rock songs. Favorites #1 and #2 are the same level, just different songs. 7PM: Easy Bob Dylan
(level 2-3) New Class full of Bob Dylan songs - Learn a dozen of Bob Dylan's most playable and singable songs this Summer. Note: This class is drawn from the material used in my multi-level All Bob Dylan classes taught in 2011. You should already know how to play a few Travis style picking patterns to take this class or also be taking the Intro to Travis Picking class this Summer. All guitar arrangements will be in tablature. |
TUESDAYS
5PM: Easy Beatles #2 (level 2+) New Class! Songs will be mostly accompanied with a flatpick but we will also learn a few fingerstyle songs now and then. Learn easy to play Beatles songs in time for the Summer! We will start with learning how to use a flatpick. We will also learn new acoustic rock strums and chords (including a few barre chords). We'll add simple bass lines to some of the songs and have tons of fun! 6PM: Songwriter's Circle
(no guitar level) Open to songwriters of all levels including beginners. Our songwriting class is different every quarter in our constant search for the muse. Come to get started writing your own songs; come for ideas and guidance; come to share a song in progress or a finished song. Come just to have a great time! 7PM: Americana and It's Roots #24
(multi-level class: levels 3 and 4) This class will be popular, so it is offered at two different times and will be taught at two different levels to fit a wider range of playing ability. We will feature contemporary music that incorporates elements of American roots music styles plus the origins of American roots music. We’ll learn songs from artists like Lyle Lovett, the Wailin’ Jennys, Gillian Welch, John Hiatt, Alison Krauss, Tim O’Brien, Townes Van Zandt, Sarah Jarosz, Emmylou Harris, etc. We will also learn songs from some of the primary sources of American roots music. All guitar arrangements are written in tablature. |
